Dive in to the beauty that is the UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park on this full-day guided trip from the Croatian capital, Zagreb. Let your guide lead you through this natural wonderland, getting dazzled by the turquoise waterfalls, streams and lakes. Get an up-close and personal view of the beautifully colored water on an electric boat and then end the tour with a panoramic train or bus ride. The tour is limited to just 19 people, ensuring ample attention from the guide.
Get picked up at your hotel in Zagreb to begin this exciting day trip tour out of the city. Ride in an air-conditioned shuttle for about 3.5 hours as you learn about the history and bio-diversity of the national park, which is the biggest and oldest in the country.
After arriving in Plitvice Lakes National Park, hop off the shuttle and begin exploring the park, marveling at the diversity of trees: from pine to spruce to beech trees and the verdant ferns that blanket the forest floor. The trail can be steep at times, going down as much as 300 steps, but it’s well worth it, as you’ll find out.
Stroll along the trails, taking in the colorful wild floors that flank your way, and pass over wooden bridges that afford incredible extremely picture-worthy photos of the turquoise lakes, streams and waterfalls.
Hop on an electric boat to get an even better look at the lakes, as you cruise along the clear water, the color of which feels like it’s straight out of a dreamed-up fantasy land.
After the ride, keep going on foot as you marvel at the views of the higher lakes. Later opt either for a bus or a train ride for the final panoramic view of the the lakes and surrounding forests. Then take 60 minutes of free time to do some more exploring or grab lunch (at own expense) at a restaurant, before returning to the shuttle for the ride back to Zagreb where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

First of all adored my tour guide Tammy!!!! Secondly, sites were wonderous as you can imagine. It is very remarkable the human fascination with falling water, it makes you wonder if all of God's creatures can sense the magnitude of these natural wonders. Furthermore if you do not find these falls magnificent can you be considered human?
Definitely worth the tour, the lakes are amazing. Need good walking shoes and your camera, you won’t be disappointed. A full day is needed to enjoy the walkways and trails.
Just amazing. We could have had an awful guide and it would have still been an amazing tour.
Stunning, beautiful, must see.
Please respect the park and do not litre.
1. Timing: On time pick up from pre-decided/ fixed location
2. Tour guide Tamara: knowledgeable, provides the required information will provide you more info if requested, able to manage the group well, extremely clear in communication, accommodating and flexible towards any special needs
3. Tour: well organised and good coverage with the much required break on the way to Plitvice National Park from Zagreb city.
To be taken care off
1. Although nothing to do with the tour operator, the queues at the lunch station may get very long as there were only 2 caterers. Hence, it might take longer than expected at the lunch area.
2. Comfortable footwear with good grip is a must. Warm clothing it got a little chill as we walked up the National Parks during Oct
3. Return to Zagreb city might take longer than onward journey considering the traffic jams. Hence, plan any events post return from Plitvice with caution.
Amazing tour and an amazing park!! Tammy was amazing and informative!! Definitely take this tour when in Zagreb! You won’t regret it!
Lucky us! After reading the reviews for this tour were blessed with Tammy Tamara as our tour guide. We knew the lakes were going to spectacular but our 2 hour ride from Zagreb to the lakes was made better with our guide. Tammy was very informative, gave us group of 16 the history of the areas struggles and ultimate fate. Tammy makes this trip at least 3 times a week but you can tell by her enthusiasm that she is so proud and in love with her country. I don't blame her, this tour was the highlight of my trip to Croatia, and that is saying a lot considering the country is awesome!!!
This is one of the most beautiful places on earth, I'm convinced. The tour is a small group of no more than 8. Our guide Andrea was pleasant and non-intrusive as we walked through the park. She was there if we had questions, but left us alone to go at our own pace and take photos/selfies.
It was a great tour! A kind note - lots of walking requires in this tour but it wasn't an issue and I really enjoyed it!
This was an excellent trip that I would highly recommend.
Although our hotel Hotel Dubrovnik was not on the list of selected hotels that pick-up was offered from, they were happy to pick us from there. The tour company contacted me 2 days prior to the trip to confirm the pick-up time and arrived at the agreed time.
We were met by our tour guide Marco, who was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were part of a small group of 8 people and once everyone was on board in Zagreb, Marco gave us some facts and information on the city. Marco continued to give us facts on Croatia and the various regions we passed through throughout the journey. Marco was happy to answer questions that anyone asked during the journey.
After about 90 mins travelling, we made a brief stop about 20 mins at a small town, Rastoke, for anyone that needed a toilet break, a drink or just a stretch of the legs. Rastoke was very pleasant and we got some nice photographs here.
After about another 30 mins we arrived at Plitvice Lakes and Marco recommended that anyone that needed to do so went for a toilet break or buy drinks/snacks, whilst he went to collect the tickets. I would definitely recommend getting drinks for the trip, especially during hot summer months. The shop had only a selection of sandwiches, so if you want to take any other snacks it would be best to pick these up in Zagreb.
Marco lead us to a bus which took us to the top of the park and we then walked downhill for the trip. This meant that the tour started off less crowded and it was easier going that walking up those hills in the summer heat. Throughout the trip Marco ensured that everyone was ok and did a good job of keeping the group together. There was plenty of opportunities to take photographs, so much so that I have literally hundreds of pictures from the day!
The park itself is so beautiful that it's indescribable, the waters were such an unusual colour that they need to be seen to be believed. Marco guided us around all of the lakes over a walk that took several hours, the ground underfoot is quite uneven so sturdy shoes or trainers are needed. The only negative from the day was just how busy the park is.
At the end of the guided tour Marco lead us to a boat which took us across one of the lakes to one of the entrance/exits, we then had about 90 mins free time to have lunch, walk about park on our own or take a rowing boat on one of the lakes. Marco then collected the group together and lead us to our bus to return to Zagreb and be dropped off back at our hotel.
