This is the perfect way to visit all the sites in Rome. The full trip takes around 2 HR because of heavy traffic.

I pre Booked my Rome Hop On Hop Off sightseeing Tour 74 Sept 2018 prices that includes free entrance to Vatican Museum Sistine Chapel , plus Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and Colosseum ..
And it works BRILLIANTLY . So easy to book and to use .
Go on the first day of your tour and not before because the vouchers will start as soon as you get onto the bus . A person will give you a Bus Ticket with a Barcode on it , This is your ticket to get on and off the bus , next a Voucher for the Vatican , To redeem this you get off at the stop for the Vatican Museum , Cross over the bridge , Turn left towards a White building where the City Sightseeing Auditorium Visitor Center is , A person will ask , What time you wish to visit the Vatican , They will then print out another timed voucher , with your time on it that you stated . To get into the museum , Follow the crowds or go towards St Peter Basilica , Turn right and go under a arch and follow sign for museum entrance . Dont queue , just carry on to the GROUP entrance barrier , A person will let you in Go to the ticket barrier and a person will give you a ticket to get into the museum .
For the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and Colosseum , Go to the entrance of The Roman Forum first , A person will give you a timed ticket for the Colosseum , You cannot get into the Colosseum until after 2-30pm .So maybe make a day of it visiting Forum , Hill and Colosseum ?
The buss route is on a loop , And the historical sites have numbered stops , 8 stops on route , You cannot go back to the starting point Rome Termini So if you get off at the Colosseum no3 , the bus will then take you to no4 Circo Massimo and so on .
the busses are every 20 mins , Depending on traffic. Its a great way of seeing Rome and its surrounding areas .And it will take you to all of the Historical sites there is to see ..
I recommend this tour ..

This one is my favorite. We have a 72- hours pass. Indeed, the best of Rome in 10 Stops. A must for every first time visitor in Rome.

We used the Hop on Hop off bus for one day visiting some of Rome’s historical sites along the 8 stop route. We particularly appreciated the convenience of the stop being right in front of our hotel (Royal Santina) on Via Marsala which is across from the Termini Train and Metro station. The bus was relaxing and took us to many sites without having to hire a guide or be on a guided tour. The bus is equipped with audio narration. And the frequency of the busses is actually about every 10 minutes. We did notice that there are several other Hop on Hop off busses with similar and/or different routes. Finally, although it’s advertised as a 24 hour bus, they only operate until about 7:00 pm or 9:00 pm depending on the day.

It was difficult to find the initial stop location . We had to walk about 15 minutes from our hotel drop off by the Vatican. We decided to stay on the bus for its entire route the first day and then to pick a place we wanted to visit for several hours . It was very informative and really gave us great information on what we wanted to really do . You can take a lot of pictures from the bus itself even if you decide not to stop and physically visit the stop it self . We purchased a two day pass. Day 1 we went around a total of 3 Times . Day 2 we went around twice. Very worth the money for what you get.

We were able to see all the major destinations in Rome (Roman Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Sistine Chapel, etc) in only two days thanks to the hop on and off bus. We purchased the 48 hr all inclusive which includes tickets. We never waited in any line to enter the sites!! So convenient and allowed us to see more in a shorter time. Would 100 percent recommend this tour.

We had a two day pass and found this amazing - so easy - we did a complete loop the first day, and then returned to check out a couple of special sites. Second day we made use of the same way. Good idea to start early - love the hop on hop off experience.
