  • 10-hour Golden Circle and Northern Lights tour from Reykjavik by Super Jeep

  • Roam Thingvellir National Park to see ancient geological formations and the old Althing parliament site
  • Visit the Gullfoss waterfall and see the bubbling pools and Strokkur geyser at the Geysir geothermal field
  • Go in search of the spectacular Northern Lights as darkness falls
  • Tour the countryside away from light pollution and with luck, witness the magical lights
  • Enjoy a flexible itinerary and small-group atmosphere on a tour limited to six people
Start with a Reykjavik hotel pickup, and travel inland by Super Jeep, a comfortable 4x4 designed to negotiate rugged terrain.

As you travel, hear from your guide about Iceland’s volcanic geology and perhaps use the flexible itinerary to adjust the times you spend at each site, according to your group’s wishes.

Stop first at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. Learn how the landscapes have been formed over millennia, and absorb the contrast between the lush green vegetation and rich, black ground. See Lake Thingvallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake, and stop at Althing, where the world’s first parliament met in 930 AD.

Travel on to Geysir, a geothermal field of hot springs, steam vents and the remnants of an old volcano. Stroll around the boiling mud pools and view Strokkur; the geyser that shoots hot water high in the sky every few minutes.

Continue to Gullfoss waterfall, whose name means ‘Golden Falls,’ a reference to the shimmering, multi-colored mists that can sometimes appear above the waters. Admire the waterfall, whose waters plunge into a canyon, and if the weather permits, get close to the cascades.

As dusk falls, begin your quest for the Northern Lights. Iceland is one of the world’s best places to see them, and your all-terrain 4x4 and knowledgeable guide will allow you to identify and access the best potential viewing sites.

On your search, hear how the lights appear when cosmic rays, solar wind and magnetospheric plasma interact with the upper atmosphere. Make stops to survey the dark skies, and with luck, enjoy a sighting. The pulsating colors of the lights, usually green and blue, split the darkness and sometimes shine brighter than the moon.

Your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off.

We had a wonderful day and evening with our tour guide Adam. I would definitely pick this tour over a big bus or minivan tour because were able to go where the other vehicles cannot go. It was limited to 6 people but we were the only 2 that day so we had a private tour! Adam was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We felt like old friends by the time the tour was over. He is very knowledgeable about the history and all the sites we visited. We saw where the tectonic plates meet (and a scene from Game of Thrones), a geyser and a magnificent waterfall. Based on the interests of the passengers, he is able to add stops that would interest the group. Adam was persistent in finding the Northern Lights. We started off-road on a mountain top where he used to his camera to check for any activity. Then as we travelled the roads with Adam constantly checking the skies, he found them! What a magnificent sight as the lights danced for us. An amazing day! Take any of his tours and you will not be disappointed.

What an experience! Adam our guide was fabulous and the sights just fabulous. Adam was so good at finding the Northern Lights. He knew just what to look for and where the viewing was the best. As we viewed the sights of the Golden Circle he was so helpful in making sure our trekking was safe and as comfortable as possible.

Amazing tour! We are not much of tour taken people but since my wife and I were going to stay only few days in Iceland and She really wanted to see the Northern Light on her search founded the great reviews that Adam had as a truly good guide and she booked the tour with him. We were not disappointed at all. Ended by being a private tour since it was only my wife and I. Adam is a very nice and friendly young man, knowledgeable, adventurous and he really wants his costumers to leave the tour happy. You arrive as a costumer and you leave as a friend. He came very well equipped for our needs, we had no idea about what to expect but he provide the crampons to be able to walk on the icy terrain in some of the places we visit of the golden circle. After that we had a break to have a great Lamb soup. Every stop was great. The possibility of seen the Northern Lights the day of our tour were not the best and at the end of the tour we hadn't seen them, Adam took the extra time and effort to make my wife's dream come true and when we though it was not going to happened. Voila! Adam found them! At the beginning they were very dimmed and only able to see them through the pictures but then an amazing dance of lights started to happen and we were able to see them without the need of the camera. It was show we will never forget! He also took great pictures of us with the Northern Lights and e-mailed them to us. We highly recommend it. Thank you Adam for making a dream come true!

We cannot recommend this tour enough. My family of four ages 36, 39, 60, and 66 had the best time with Adam. By the end of the day, we felt like Adam was an old friend. He provided us with warm beverages throughout the day and had crampons available, so we could hike some icy terrains. Not only did he show us beautiful sites, but he did everything possible to show us the northern lights, which was on all of our bucket lists.

Obviously it's up to mother nature and we realized we only had one shot as we were there only one night, but he was patient and determined for us to see this miracle of nature. He kept stopping to take photos to see even the barest hint of the northern lights that wasn't yet visible to the human eye and then would drive us toward it for the best view as it, hopefully, continued to form and become stronger. He kept doing this, taking us on roads that weren't even on new maps anymore, just to maximize our chance of seeing this.

He was able to do this because of his customized super jeep. It seats a maximum of 6 guests, but he told me that when we booked, he went ahead and closed the date off to additional bookings, so that we wouldn't be paired with another couple and have to fit cozily with strangers. I don't know of another proprietor who would forgo potential revenue for the comfort of another customer.

Adam is a great photographer as well and was able to capture amazing shots of us with the northern lights in the background. If you can make a trip to Iceland, take one of Adam's tours, you will not be disappointed.

Adam was an awesome tour guide. Due to the weather we switched up our plans and he was just fine with the change. We ended up walking into a waterfall and even got him to stop at the Icewear factory outlet for the girls to shop! Great experience!

We had the most fabulous day with Adam! We saw the Reykjavik landscape, the blue ice of a glacier, a geyser, a beautiful waterfall, and a cool ravine where Games of Thrones was filmed. But of course the most spectacular and amazing event was the northern lights display. Adam was persistent in finding the lights which were elusive at first. He was able to take fantastic photos of me and my husband with the aurora as the background. This was no easy feat since it was cold and Adam had to work his magic with extra lighting so we showed up in the photo. I cannot say enough about how friendly and courteous and knowledgeable Adam is. We had the best time!

Adam was an amazing guide and the tour was awesome. He was highly knowledgeable about the area and made the entire day enjoyable. I would recommend this over a large group tour by a large margin. His rates are extremely reasonable for what you get. We ended up being the only two in the vehicle that day so we got an entire private day and night trip for a little more than the golden circle bus trip a bus northern lights tour trip. It was dreadful and raining all day so we didn't get to see the lights. However that did not stop us from having an incredible time that was in large part due to Adam, his cool truck, and not having to be in the large herded crowds. The trip went well enough that I tried to book him for the South Coast tour but he was already booked for the next two days.
