Your tour begins with pick-up from your Queenstown hotel and a short transfer to the hangar to board your flight. Take off for a 40-minute flight to Milford Sound and admire spectacular views over the Fiordland National Park, as you swoop over the snow-capped peaks, glittering lakes, and dramatic fjords.
After touching down in Milford Sound, enjoy the fjord from a different perspective as you set sail on a 2-hour cruise. Keep your camera close to hand as you cruise past natural wonders like the 525-foot (160-meter) high Bowen Falls, the striking hanging valley of Sinbad Gully, and the snow-capped peak of Mount Pembroke.
Climb onto your boat’s viewing platform to get a better view of the local wildlife, including colonies of fur seals, pods of dusky dolphins, and the rare Fiordland crested penguins. As you continue towards the Tasman Sea coast, pass beneath the distinctive 5,551-foot (1,692 meter) mountain of Mitre Peak, one of New Zealand’s most photographed landmarks.
Back on dry land, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the Milford Sound Airstrip, where you’ll board a second 40-minute flight to Glenorchy. Here, jump aboard a jet boat for a thrilling 1-hour cruise along the Dart River, into the heart of the Mt Aspiring National Park, a filming location for the Lord of the Rings movies. You’ll also have chance for a closer encounter with the park’s diverse wildlife and discover the region’s rich Maori heritage on a 30-minute guided hike through the forest.
After an action-packed day, you’ll be transferred by coach back to Queenstown where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
