Meet your guide in central Prague, jump aboard the minivan and soak up the scenery as you journey through the Czech countryside. After around 15 minutes, arrive at the starting point of the first walk, a scenic hike around the dramatic cliffs and glittering lakes of the Prokopske Valley.
Enjoy a close encounter with local wildlife as you stop by a local forest center, then hop back in the minivan and continue to the Big America canyon. Discover the Czech version of the Grand Canyon on the second hike of the day and be sure to bring your camera – the former quarry is now a picturesque gorge, hiding a sunken lake, and the views are breath-taking.
Next, walk beneath the fairytale turrets of Karlstejn Castle and enjoy around 2.5 hours to explore the castle complex. Choose from three different options: take a 2.7km (1.7-mile) hike around the castle; skip the walk and head to one of the many cafés and restaurants (own expense) or take a 1-hour guided tour (extra cost) of the castle interiors.
After lunch (own expense) at Karlstejn Castle, pay a visit to the St. John under the Rock monastery, dramatically situated on a cliff-side, then cool off with a swim in the Berounka River (optional).
After an action-packed full-day itinerary, return to the city and end your tour in central Prague.
Please note: You don’t have to be super fit to join this trip, just an active person. This tour is for everybody! The total walking distance is about 14km, but it can be reduced to 7km by opting out of some of the hikes. Total driving time is around 2 hours.
