Enjoy convenient pickup at your Tilcara hotel or accommodation at 9am. Board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus and head down 'La Banda', a road that runs through an agricultural area. During the scenic journey, view plantations bursting with fruits and vegetables that line the road.
Upon arrival in Juella, set out on a 2- to 3-hour hike; your guide will customize the terrain and length based on the fitness, skill level and desires of your group. Explore an archaeological site filled with pre-Incan ruins, during which you can see and photograph objects and remains of buildings left behind by people who inhabited the area hundreds of years ago. As you walk, listen to your guide's commentary on ancient Andean culture; their traditions, history and way of life.
Refuel with lunch in a local family's home; as you eat, learn how this family is charged with taking care of the heritage of Juella.
After lunch, listen to an orientation and safety demonstration regarding all the climbing and rappelling equipment. Under the supervision of your adventure guide, climb the rock face at your chosen level of difficulty. Routes between 65 and 230 feet (20 and 70 meters) are available, and you will always be secured on a top rope during ascent and descent. At the top of your climb, survey the surrounding terrain and multicolored hills before rappelling down safely.
At the conclusion of your activities, return to Tilcara for hotel drop-off around 6pm.
