Itinerary

Great Ocean Road Classic Tour:
Start your Melbourne immersion with the road trip everyone's talking about! Follow the historical Great Ocean Road, one of the world's most scenic coastal routes, as it winds along Victoria's southwest coast, passing long golden beaches, rugged sandstone cliffs and eucalypt-tree rainforest.

Pass the beach resort villages of Lorne and Apollo Bay and take in panoramic coastal views from the Cape Otway Lighthouse. Hear the tragic tales of the Loch Ard Gorge and discover why this spectacularly wild part of Victoria is known as the Shipwreck Coast. Then, enjoy a traditional Australian lunch.
The route also takes you among the soaring eucalypt trees of the Otway rain forest, and to the offshore sandstone stacks called the Twelve Apostles.

Phillip Island Penguin Parade Day Trip:
On another day (within seven days of your Great Ocean Road tour), travel to Phillip Island to visit the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a hands-on wildlife experience. Learn about the park's conservation efforts, hand-feed a kangaroo, see wallabies and wombats, or have the opportunity to get a photo taken with a koala. You'll also see flying possums and other cute Australian marsupial mammals.

Next, you'll see sheep shearing and working dogs in action at the historic farm on neighboring Churchill Island before visiting the Koala Conservation Centre. Enjoy the views of Phillip Islands rugged coastline with a stroll along the Nobbies boardwalk.

As dusk falls, get ready for the main event at Summerland Beach, as Victoria's largest colony of little penguins return home from a day of fishing at sea, waddling their way up the sands to their burrows.

Enhance your penguin-viewing experience with a choice of upgrade options. Choose the Penguin Plus option to have a better view of the penguins from the comfort of an exclusive viewing area with private boardwalk. Or be warm and dry in a Penguin Skybox and watch the penguins from an elevated indoor viewing area while enjoying drinks and canapés. Choose the Private Penguin Parade for front-row seats on the sand with access to the penguins, joining an exclusive small group visit with a private ranger guide.

These tours were excellent. Kurt was our tour guide for the penguins and Chris for the Twelve Apostles. Lots of information was provided with music breaks in between on our small buses. One was for around 28-30 and the other 24. Both lunches were tasty and timely. Ample restroom stops made. We bought the underground viewing for the penguins tour and enjoyed seeing them up close. No sounds came underground but what a chorus of calls when we came up from the penguins

The Great Ocean Road drive was beautiful despite the rain and we were able to do several different things on the way. Phillip Island was fun and interesting. We were able to see a lot of koalas, kangaroos and wallabys. We enjoyed feeding the birds and loved having them land on us. At Phillip Island, we upgraded to the VIP pass. It was nice being inside much of the time where it was warm and it was nice having a ranger give us additional information although the Penguin Plus seats were also very good and less money (but outside). We did feel too rushed to get back to the bus after the penguins came out of the water. We could have used at least 30 extra minutes.

We enjoyed this trip to the Great Ocean Road. There is a lot of traveling in the coach because of the distance. The scenery is rugged and beautiful. We stopped and seen Koalas in the wild. The driver was on the lookout all the time and if he could he would stop if he seen anything. We seen an Echidna at the side of the Road. The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly.
We enjoyed Phillip Island. The farm was great with the displays. I would have liked a little more time to look around the house too. The scenery was beautiful. It was good to go on the board walks to try and see the penguins . The setting and scenery was fantastic. The penguins were adorable. It was amazing to see them all come in from the sea and return to there young. I could not stop watching them. The driver again was very knowledgeable and friendly. Because I booked two tours together we also got free Aquarium and Skydeck tickets which we appreciated and really enjoyed. Thank you

Both these trips were great - they are done in a small bus so it is quite personal - this drivers were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are long days, with lots of driving, but it is a great way to see this locations.

The great ocean road day trip was a very long day. The coast is beautiful but if youve been up the California coast its about the same. Lots of stops along the way for pictures. Really enjoyed the twelve apostles and the story behind them. The bus was not the most comfortable for the long trip

The day spent with Chris H, aka bear was fantastic. He is a great tour guide. Throughly enjoyed this tour. Watching the penguins was so fun. We did the ranger guided tour which was worth the extra cost as they provided binoculars and headsets for the tour. With the ranger you got a more detailed explanation of the penguins trip back to the beach. The day was long but so worth it. We also went to an animal conservatory and got to have our pictures taken with a koala.

One suggestion is all your guides should follow Chriss example in ensuring everyone is back on the bus in time. No one wanted to wear the donkey hat. Wish he had been on the ocean road tour as we had to wait three times for different groups to get back to the bus.

A long day but well worth it. The twelve apostles is a spectacular sight and the penguin parade is a must see. I would recommend taking the private guided walk at the penguin parade. We got very close to the activity and our guide was extremely informative. We were provided with binoculars and headsets.

It's my first time coming to Melbourne and this package provides great tours and information. The Tour guide and Driver for our Great Ocean Road is Fiona and she is very professional and knowledgeable. The scenary is good and we got to take a few stop for photographs. Enjoyed lunch at the Cape Lighthouse with great view. The tour to Phillip Island is excellant! We got to stop by Conservatory and Koala Park to see the Wallabies and Koalas on our way. The Little penguins are adorable and worth the hours wait for them to return home after sunset. Regarding to the Attraction Pass, I picked the Sealife Aquarium and Eureka 88 Skydeck. The Sealife Aquarium is fun even for adults. I was amazed by the Mega Croc, the King penguin, the Geetoo penguin and the huge Stingray. I love the ease to move from one area to another with the Indoor map. The aqaurium provides you with Station Numbers that you just need to follow and you will finish walking the entire acquarium in about 2-3 hours. A great place for tourists and family and kids to visit. The Eureka 88 skydeck has 360 degree view of the Melbourne city. It's very nice to view the city from above. You can see different architechtures and feel the vibrant and moderness of the city and at the same time, the history aspect of it. I love all the tours and attractions and highly recommended for first-time visitor to Melbourne.

The Melbourne Super Saver pass is terrific value. Our tour guide Thursday Jan. 18, pretty sure named Rob to Phillip Island, Moonlit Sanctuary, Churchill Island and the Koala Conservation Centre was terrific. Moonlit provided the best possible close up experience with a Koala, a highlight of highlights and more than well worth the extra fee to pet and take numerous photos. Phillip Island is a must see and incredible experience. We paid for the V.I.P. Upgraded tickets, but not needed to have great visibility to the penguins for anyone on a budget. Our terrific tour guide Rob went out of his way to make sure our special needs daughter enjoyed everything about the day. He even arranged for her to pet a working sheep dog and fed a Clydesdale horse while on Churchill Island. On tour guide Fiona on January 21 to Great Ocean Road was also an outstanding professional and made the long day as enjoyable and informative as possible. Even though the day included rain and was mostly overcast, the Great Ocean Road is a must see tour and Fiona made it special. One suggestion to Bunyip Tours who managed both excursions, please upgrade your tour buses. I would have happily paid significantly more for this package with more comfortable buses. Lastly, make sure to use your bonus Melbourne Attraction Passes. The Eureka Sky Tower is wonderful experience and my family enjoyed the Aquarium passes while I was spent another day at the Australia Open Tennis tournament.
