Designed to satisfy the needs of every type of traveler, this 5-hour tour of Toledo gives you the chance to explore the UNESCO-listed city your way. Choose from six options: enjoy round-trip transport from your Madrid hotel and opt to explore Toledo independently, during a guided tour, or on a panoramic bus tour. You’ll also have the option to include a standard or gourmet lunch, and entry to the UNESCO-listed Catedral Primada.
Regardless of the option chosen at checkout, at approximately 9am you’ll enjoy a convenient pickup service from select Madrid hotels. Following a 1-hour drive, you’ll arrive in the UNESCO-listed historic center of Toledo.
If you’ve chosen to explore Toledo your way, you’ll have the remainder of your time to explore independently before reconvening with your guide and group at a prearranged time. Similarly, if you’ve only chosen the bus tour, you’ll have leisure time before boarding a bus tour at a time convenient to you.
Embark on a walking tour that covers top Toledo attractions including the Plaza de Zocodover, the Jewish Quarter, the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, and Santo Tomé Church, where one the world’s most famous paintings — The Burial of Count Orgaz by El Greco — resides.
Then, if you opted to include entry to Toledo Cathedral, you’ll head inside the landmark and discover an interior just as spectacular as the cathedral’s façade. Conclude your walking tour by watching a traditional art workshop and then head to a Spanish restaurant to enjoy either a standard lunch of beef and vegetables, or a gourmet option with tapas, roasted lamb, and wine. If you opted for the full-day package, you'll also enjoy a panoramic bus tour of Toledo.
At a time prearranged with your guide, you’ll return to your vehicle and relax during the 1-hour journey back to your Madrid hotel.
This was a good tour and well organised. It was easy to find the departure point and the staff there were very helpful. The drive out to Toledo was good as the tour guide spoke both Spanish and English and explained the agenda for the day. The city itself is amazing with great architecture. The weather was very warm the day we went there and the paths were steep however there were no issues getting around. Again, the tour guide was very informative and gave us all great insight into each of the places we visited. The lunch was also very good. The end of the tour was the traditional exit through gift shop, however the place had a lot of nice hand crafted things for sale and not the typical tourist souvenirs.
Toledo was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed the tour. The stop at the jewelry and gifts store could be easily eliminated, but it’s not the worst. I’d recommend this one.
