This was a wonderful experience -- even on a rainy day in May 2018! We were introduced to Borough Market near London Bridge, Pickfords Wharf, the Mug House, and the surrounding South Bank area. It was a small group only 4 of us, so very personal attention from our guide not now recalling her name, but who was a delight, and we had plenty of opportunity to explore and taste on our own as well as a group. A great way to experience a part of London that we all know is there, but don't quite know how to access. If you wish to explore London not in a typical touristy way, book this foody, walking tour -- you'll feel like a local!
Food tours really get you to the heart of the city. WE concentrated in and around Borough Market. There were the actual growers of the food and the wholesalers. On the other side of this huge market were all those who prepared this very fresh food and served it to the customers. Our guide took us through the markets, we engaged with the purveyors and tasted good sized portions of 7 or 8 foods and beverages. All were excellent. The guide was very personable and familiar with the food servers and preparers. She knew the history of the area. Small group made it fun. Highly recommend his tour.
This was a great tour. My husband and I really enjoy the market and all the food. It was so helpful to have a tour guide to point out the best foods to try. From what I read on other reviews, our tour guide wasn't as informative about London history, but he still did a good job. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Took the afternoon tour and it turned out we were the only ones scheduled so it became a private tour. Our guide was Chris and he was great! We started the tour by crossing the street and within 2 minutes we were seated and great food was arriving at our table. There were a number of different dishes including fish and chips, scotch eggs, sticky toffee pudding, cheese plate, beer and cider and a donut for dessert. There was so much food I'm not sure I've remembered it all. We had a chance to spend time in the Borough Market and worked in some of the history of London as we walked around and Chris pointed out a number of sites that you may not see during a typical tour. We came hungry, we left full and Chris gets 5 stars from us for a great tour!
very informative, lots of food, lovely guide who knew her knowledge and history off food. highly reccomend

Be prepared to eat. This was so fun, we went back another day during our week in London. Take your camera as there are many beautiful food displays. You won't be disappointed.
I was a solo traveler but quickly became family with the tight group that experienced the sights, sounds and of course flavors that this tour had to offer. We arrived before our tour guide but again, everyone was soooooo wonderful. The meeting place was a bit tricky to find as it was my first stay in London but otherwise it was wonderful. I embarrassingly got lost in the borough market BUT the group came looking for me and did not leave as i said - FAMILY. The guide was phenomenal, friendly and was a quick thinker. She accommodated my requests as I didn't eat beef and i never felt like i missed anything. The stops were great, my belly was filled and it was money well spent. P.S. can anyone tell me where we stopped for that sticky fudgy pudding since leaving i have never stopped thinking about it lol
This was amazing! Our guide Sharlene was very knowledgeable about the Market, it's history, and where to find the best food. We were stuffed when we left!
Our Saturday 4/14/18 11:00 am tour given by Sharlene was a 3 hour phantasmagoria of fresh food products, stalls of food and drink delights, and descriptions of all things food. We learned the history of this Market and tasted all the english specialties at their best. Sharlene led us through the crowds and told the stories of the farms, fisheries and gardens that supply the incredible array of products and delights. Our guide provided samples of various breakfast, lunch, appetizer and desserts as we strolled through the market and nearby London Bridge and Shard areas. She pointed out sights on the river and offered tips as to where we could see the views of the city from various rooftops. Sharlene knew how to keep everyone even more interested with her descriptions and her enthusiasm for her work. While we loved the market and the tastes, Sharlene added to the sheer joy of the tour with her banter, explanations and enthusiasm. Everyone who takes a Market food tour should be as lucky! A 5 star winning tour.
This is the second food tour I have booked through viator and I couldn't be more pleased! The first was in Paris and I was forever hooked on food tours after that! This one in London was fantastic! Our tour guide Ella was professional, informative, and fun! Great food and lots of interesting London history. I highly recommend!
