Great tour! We were going to skip the tour and just go to the palace to see the changing of the guard but read online that the tour was worth it, so we booked. Best decision for this event. Tom, our tour guide was fantastic, he knew the history, he knew the route and he made it fun for everyone. The tour covers a number of different sights before getting to the location that the guards march from. You see them getting ready and then you march with them all the way down to the palace. So much better than standing with the crowds at the gate and waiting for the guards to come. Worthwhile and a lot of fun.
A really good tour. Angus was the host of this tour and used his Shakespearean skills well. An entertaining morning.
Our guide was amazing! Friends told us we could see the Changing of the Guard for free. I thought this tour was worth every penny!!
We were so glad we booked this tour - the guide truly did get us to the very best vantage points to view this spectacular event. Without the guide, we would have missed so much, and just been swallowed up with all the other tourists who didn't get to see what we did. In a couple of sections of this tour, you do need to be able to walk very quickly, but generally the pace was quite comfortable.
Well worth taking this tour - the guide does indeed get you to the very best vantage points to view this spectacular event - without the guide, we definitely would have missed most of the event and been swallowed up with all the other tourists who didn't get to see what we did. For sections of this tour, you must be able to walk quite quickly.
I'm in London, so changing of the guard is required. I knew the crowds in front of the palace would be huge in June and I wanted something more than just standing behind a fence in front of the palace. So I chose this tour.
First off, thanks to Amber. She was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. There is so much more to the changing of the guard than what goes on in front of the palace. From the changing of the horse guards, the guards exiting St. James palace and the relief parading from their barrack. Amber was great in explaining what was happening and who the participants were. This is definitely a tour you want to do, especially if it your first time.
Couple of things. This is a fast paced tour once the ceremony starts. You have to go from one location to the other very rapidly. You will have to cross a couple of streets and once the guards start to approach, you won't be able to cross. Amber had excellent timing, but people who are mobility impaired or have strollers may have issues. Also, you will not be able to see what goes on in front of the palace. By the time you get there, the crowds will just be to thick.
A fun walking tour with Jess, our very knowledgeable guide. The tour began at Piccadilly and finding the group and Jess was easy, as was getting there via the Tube. The tour covers a good bit of ground, but it is not strenuous at all. Jess knows his material well, is very engaging, and his tour management allowed us to be where we needed to be to easily see what we wanted. Jess kept us ahead of the crowds which was convenient and allowed him the time to explain what was or would be happening very useful and necessary. This tour is a must if you want to beat the crowds and actually see and understand all the intricacies of the changing of the guard. Highly recommended!
Jessie was our tour guide. Well informed and knew his stuff. A good walk and you need to be able to move quickly to keep up at times. If you want to be part of the action of the Changing of Guards you need to move when he tells you. We had the opportunity to take many photos of the guards at various times. From St James Palace, Buckingham Palace and then at Clarence House to finish off the tour.
A great experience and well worth the money. Would recommend these guys.
AWESOME tour! Danielle is the greatest! She showed up promptly at the designated meeting site. She was prepared, knowledgeable in her local history and we made several stops along the tour. She was professional, polite and super friendly. She knows the best spots to stand, she knew how to make the tour enjoyable. We had the best spots for pictures :- . Well done Danielle!!!
This was our very first tour and we had a BLAST!! Matt was so knowledgeable and funny. Each site we visited was relevant and interesting. The fact that they got us the best view of the changing of the guard at St. James' was the best part. People began on the wrong side of the street and were ushered away by an officer with a firearm, much to our delight, as we then had the best view. Walking with the change of the guard and the band to Buckingham Palace was so awesome. We didn't get right up to the gates of Buckingham Palace, but we were posted in an area where we could see the exchange of the key and the deployment of the new guard to relieve the old. Absolutely amazing. Don't bring a stroller though - high foot traffic area and a lot of stairs.
A great tour. Gavin, our guide, was funny and insightful. He had lots of great stories about the history and traditions. Gavin was excellent! He got us in position for perfect viewing and picture taking.
The tour was just excellent. Great value for money, would recommend it to everybody. Our tour guide Jess was a lot of fun, helpful and very knowledgeable.
this was such a fun day. We are runners so was fine but only advice is if cant keep up I would get a tour where you just stand at end.
this tour was really fun as we started at beginning and ran along till end. Amazing experience to see and such beautiful scenery
Tour was fantastic. Matt had us in perfect position for every step and turn of the Guard. He's obviously did his homework to make this tour top notch. In addition, he provided wonderful knowledge and insight on the Royal family. We got much more out of this than just marching with the Guards. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour was fantastic! Our guide Augusta was amazing. She was so informative and really made sure we had THE best view at every stop we made. It was a rainy morning and we were so glad we didn't spend it standing at the gates of Buckingham Palace watching for a small glimpse when we were able to see so much more on this tour. We did it with our 7 year old and we had an absolute blast. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants a true birds-eye view of the changing of the guard.

Excellent tour. We kept up with the different guards. Tour guy was great and funny. He knew where to stand to get the best pictures and to get out quickly to get to the next changing. Love this tour.
This is the second time I have seen this, it amazes me still! What an experience, and fabulous guide
Best part of London and wow did our guide go out of her way to make this perfect! She got us in the best parts for the best pics! Would do any tour she was leading! Absolutely amazing!!!!
It was an amazing day. Our tour guide Jess was so good. Very friendly and funny also very knowledgeable? I would highly recommend this tour?
One of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Augusta was fabulous. She used her inside information to optimize our trip. We saw so much and she brought the history of the English monarchy alive. Even my two girls were riveted.
Our Tourguide was very nice and well informed about the history and circumstances concerning the Changing of the Guard.
