Meet up with your hiking guide at the Prince Edward MTR Station Exit D in either the morning or afternoon (depending on the time you’ve selected). After a quick 15-minute bus transfer, you’ll arrive at the departure point for your hike. Get things started with an easy ascent up a nearby hill, observing groups of macaques frolicking and grooming themselves as you climb. Photographers will have plenty of time to capture a few snapshots of these playful primates.

Over the course of your journey you’ll traverse around 7.4 miles (12 kilometers) of terrain, stopping to investigate landmarks like ‘The Gin Drinkers Line,’ a series of British military defenses built between 1936 and 1938 constructed to counter the impending Japanese invasion. Explore the line’s collection of bunkers, machine gun posts and subterranean trenches with the aid of a flashlight. Finish your trip along the famous Wilson Trail, also known as Smuggler’s Ridge, before reaching the end of your walking adventure. A brief bus ride will return you back to your starting subway station.
