Meet your guide at White Sands Beach and climb aboard your air-conditioned van for the 1.5-hour sightseeing tour of Grand Turk. Your guide will provide your small group of less than 20 people with fascinating local information as you travel around the island. Pass the former US Air Force Base where John Glenn recovered after his 1962 splash down in Grand Turk's waters in his spaceship, the Friendship 7.
On Duke Street in historic downtown, appreciate the Bermudian architecture of the 19th-century buildings that house small businesses and private residences. Travel to Grand Turk Lighthouse high up on the limestone bluffs for sea views and photo ops. Stop at the Salt Museum to learn all about the island's rich history with the salt trade. Keep a lookout for the island's flamingos, wild horses and donkeys.
After seeing all the land-locked highlights that Grand Turk has to offer, you'll head out to sea. Your snorkeling cruise will start with a safety talk and equipment briefing before you take a short boat ride to a snorkel site with shallow, warm and calm waters. Dive in to observe the underwater world, safe in the knowledge that your guide is on hand to assist with any questions about technique or local wildlife. Find yourself surrounded by tropical fish, coral reefs and relaxing aqua water.
Choose to continue snorkeling or head over to a spotless white beach to wade in the shallow water amongst curious, gentle stingrays. Your captain has final say on the day's activities based on available time and weather patterns. After about an hour of enjoying everything Grand Turk's surrounding Caribbean Sea has to offer, your snorkel boat will deliver you back to White Sands Beach.
