When castle touring, this is a great value! We did 5 castles in a day, so it was well worth it. Definitely recommend.

A MUST TO HAVE. The explorer pass was a very good buy. We saw more of museums, sites, etc, in Scotland because of it. I would recommend this pass to anyone who visits Scotland.

It was easy to exchange at Edinburgh Castle and the young lady was very helpful in explaining everything.

Well worth using the Explorer Pass even though we were mostly in Edinburgh. We saw and enjoyed Melrose Abbey, Craigmillar Castle, Edinburgh Castle, and Stirling Castle. Tip for Edinburgh Castle: go in the morning. We arrived at noon and had to wait an hour for the audio headsets as they were all in use. Definitely worth renting but the wait was very long. I think our favorite was Stirling Castle -- not as crowded and they had several very excellent tours included. The Oxfam book shop in Stirling was a big hit with family members too.
