It was the most fun filled riding the Royal Enfield motorbikes through the farms which was further enhanced by seeing up close a day in the life of a farmer and the use of organic means and bio gas as fuel for farming instead of fossil fuels. All this made possible by the fantastic team of 5sensestours.com.

Lovely experience visiting Kanchi on a Royal Enfield bike. Vijay did a great job of leading the ride, ensuring smooth exit from the maddening Chennai traffic and getting us a peek into rich culture. Loved the traditional meal sappatu at the farm and of course meeting the silk weavers.
Kancheepuram was the historical capital of the imperial Pallavas and a centre for Dravidian culture offering exposure to traditions of both vaishnavites and shaivites, two important branches of Hinduism.
Kancheepuram is well-known for silk sarees. Working for 12 hours every day, a weaver can produce just about three silk sarees in a month making sarees expensive and limiting the demand. According to the weaver we met, the art might die with his generation, as next generation do not want to get into the weaving trade. Too bad. Go experience the intricate art of Kanchi silk weaving while it lasts.
