Great tour! Our guide was Jesus and he did an excellent job of explaining everything in English. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the different islands and enjoy some sun.
One of the best days in Colombia! A Great way to explore the sourcing coast! Very friendly and helpful guides and driver.
We would definitely recommend this trip to get away from Cartagena and enjoy the because blue water of the island. There were a total of four stops. It was good to have the option to skip the snorkeling and enjoy the beach ppl on our tour said the snorkeling was great, we just didn't feel like it. We could have done without the Cholon stop, as it was our least favorite compared to the others, mostly because the others were really beautiful beaches. Our guide Arturo was attentive and fun. It's a full day of sunshine so don't forget to bring sunscreen, towels, and cash.
It was lots of fun, snorkeling right from the boat was good we liked our guide Jesus. This trip goes to several beaches, and most are not the standard places that most Rosario trips take you to.
George was our guide for the trip to Rosario Island and we enjoyed the trip. The day trip takes you to different islands which are very beautiful to snorkel, swim and for local food. George is a lot of fun and informative guide... The touring company is very professional and picked and dropped us from/to our hotel at the exact time.. I would highly recommend this tour and go with George as your guide.
LOVE LOVE LOVED this tour. It made me angry that I only got to spend a day trip! Every beach was great and the water was so warm! It was a little confusing at first what we were doing leaving our stuff at one beach and doing a bit of island hopping in between but it was so worth it! Would stay longer next time!
Not bad at all. Read some reviews online of similar trips not going so well so was a bit apprehensive at first but glad I chose this one. The guides were helpful and informative. Just wish we spent a bit more time in the second beach as the first one was a bit bland..
Food was great. Views were nice! Spent enough time at every location. There was enough time to eat, tan, snorkel, and enjoy the beach itself. I recommend taking a towel of your own to lay out and/or dry yourself as this is not provided.
Had a great time. Staff was amazing. Had the opportunity to snorkel jetski get a massage and drink! It and #39;s an all day affair please bring sunscreen so you don and #39;t burn.
Everything was well organized. I would only have liked to stay a little longer on the islands before going back to Playa Blanca, but overall I enjoyed my time. Also food was delicious.
It was a full day of sun and sand! Snorkeling and boat tour of the islands were fun and beautiful. Take snacks and drinks since everything is for sale except your lunch. This tour is for everyone and the crew will help you get in and out of the wet, slippery boat. Thank you Jeyson and Amphibian!
This was overall a good trip. Our guide was involved with the group, attentive,, and able to inform us of customs and behaviors of which we might not be aware.
The description on the website was fairly accurate, so there weren't any unexpected surprises. This trip is for adventurous people who are not afraid to get wet soaked and sandy.
The beaches are lovely but crowded and there are lots of people trying to sell stuff. Unlike in other countries, I found that if you are polite and say no, they will not persist. If you are interested in their wares or services, you must ask the price first and do a bit of bargaining.
It was obvious that the company and our guide are trying to make this trip as pleasant as possible. Our guide was knowledgeable about the history of the islands. We were given the choice of snorkeling or hanging out on the beach of the first island. The next island, Cholon was very crowded and loud it's the party island. Our guide told us we could join in the party or when we were tired of it we could leave as a group . We left a bit early and the next island had a nicer beach and there was a snack of fresh octopus and clams.
We returned to Playa Blanca and had a nice lunch of fried whole fish, chicken filets or a vegetarian option. The food was good but the service was painfully slow. They knew we were coming and what we had ordered. Unfortunately, they did not have enough people to serve 23 people in a timely manner. The food came out intermittently and the beverages didn't arrive until after most people had finished and left for the beach. Our guide was even trying to help serve.
Aside from the food service which is completely fixable, I would recommend this trip and go again myself
Great tour to a beautiful part of Colombia. Fantastic tour guides. The only suggestion is perhaps having better snorkeling equipment.
I would definitely recommend taking this tour - beautiful islands and a different perspective on Cartagena.
1. Good guides
2. Includes snorkeling off of Rosario Islands even though the description says it is extra it is not
3. The beaches really are beautiful and relaxing lots of people trying to selling stuff to you constantly though...
1. We didn't want to snorkel and thought is was extra given the description online, so we got dumped on a private island and had to wait until everyone was done snorkeling. We felt like I was in time out.
overall, ok. very hot, but they made good accommodations for us. it does take a full day. we went to several islands.snorkeling was touch with the sharp corals and reefs. overall i would say it was a good tour.
The islands are beautiful. The boats that they used were not American speedboats but more like a big boat with 2 motors, life jacket provided. The tour was good but be prepared to bring money to spend CASH their are no ATM's anywhere once you leave the city. The waters were bumpy but worth the experience.
The tour was great except that the 12 hours turned into 14 before we returned to the hotel and by then we were exhausted. I would go on a shorter tour next time. The guides were pleasant and helpful all day and there was great snorkeling and swimming. Lunch was delicious, so was the juice served with it.
The beaches were beautiful, however it felt like there was not enough time to enjoy the beach. You had about an hour at each spot. To start the day at 6:30am you'd think you'd have more time in the sun. It was too much money for what you received. We also were asked to spend more money to hold our dry stuff on a table under the huts at Cholon. Spending 106 CAD/person was way too much money and we wonder where the money went. I'd advise just doing a day trip to one beach.
Ok, day started ok but they really overbooked the tour. We had to make 2 additional stops after our pick-up and they were requesting myself and my friend to scoot over and put a third person in 2 seats. We declined and someone had to sit in the front middle seat with driver and guide for a 55 minute ride. Fortunately I liked the Colombian music because it was quite loud going and coming back.
Ok, we arrive at our destination, have to walk downhill to the beach and somebody finds a razorblade in the sand on our way down. We have a short 5-10 minute walk to where we get picked up by boat. So far, so good. Our ride to the islands and snorkeling was great. Great views, good snorkeling. Our issue here was that there was no plan or instructions for anybody. They just handed out dirty snorkeling equipment free and said jump in anywhere. Didn't ask if people could swim, what to do if tired, how to get back in boat or anything. Our swim from boat was a good distance. No problem for me as I am excellent swimmer and experienced snorkeler. But, fortunately everybody was ok. Was good amount of time and saw some schools of fish and some interesting fish but far from as nice as Riviera Maya. Anyway, we had to swim quite a distance back to boat as well and to get back in the was a ladder with only 2 rungs. I had to try 4 times before I could get my leg on the rung and pull myself up with no added help from anybody on the boat. Very sad. after getting all the snorkeling equipment back in a bag, the crew threw it to another boat and they in turn started handing it out to their passengers. No cleaning or anything. Quite gross!
In all fairness, if I was a teenager or in my 20's, no problem, but I and my friend are upper 50's and 60's and should have had help getting in boat. Nothing on tour says you need to be in great shape or anything like that. Anyway, still not a big deal and problems are coming soon.
From snorkeling we were headed to next beach. This was also a nice beach. But, many many vendors are always trying to sell you something. I accepted a massage because it was not a set price and supposed to tip. Great massage and gave her 10 bucks and she demanded 20. Sorry, but not paying 20 for a 10 minute massage of my arms and shoulders.
Next is where it turns to hell. My friend and I are in the front of boat. The captain has the boat going full blast in rough waters and we are flying out of our seats and crashing down in our seats and hurting our backs. Possibly the ride was smoother in the back of the boat and they had no idea of the pain we were in the front. We had to grab our crewmember and demand to slow down. They all acted like, the had no idea what the problem was or how to understand us. They did slow somewhat but after that, damage was done. I had a sore back for a couple days after that.
There has to be a safety issue involved in this. They only gave out life jackets when my friend demanded it. No instructions on anything. Flying out of our seats will never be acceptable.
Lastly, when we did arrive for lunch we sat at picnic table with hundreds of flies. Chicken and fish were extra well done and pretty bad. Fresh fruit looked fine but after hundreds of flies land on it, not so appealing anymore. We took a short boat ride back to where our bus was. Nice and slow this time and no problems. Our guide couldn't find our bus and were left in the hot sun for 10 miserable minutes. Then home, thankfully
Ok, to recap, could have been much better. Beaches were nice, warm, tropical and romantic. Food was horrible and I'm sure the flies were everywhere on the coast so I don't even count that against the tour but certainly they could cook a piece of chicken or fish better for the price we paid. 3-4 stars for just about everything else except that bad boat ride that was unsafe and hurt my back. I chose this tour because it was a little cheaper than my tour group charged but regret it now.
Tour was Ok, the places are gorgeous. the main issue are the Food, which was terrible and the coordination by the end: We was in Playa blanca, The last stop, for over an Hour waiting for the van who was disaperared. the Tour guide couldn't make a decition, he can't reach his boss, and finally after many complaints He was authirized to send us by Taxi. When the went to find them the Van appear. The nice day was destroyed in an hour and a half. Please note there is no commodities like showers, and no credit cards Accepted.
First off, Arturo and Amphibian were really nice and really friendly. That's honestly why I'm giving this tour a 2 instead of a 1. Also, totally recognize that this is a new tour and there's kinks to be worked out.
We were told to be ready at our hotel in Boca Grande by 6:10am ugh. We weren't picked up until 6:40. I had to call the provided number at 6:30 just to ask where our pickup was and they said: bad traffic. There was no traffic.
The van ride was okay but there was no talking. Just loud music. Would have been nice to have our guide tell us a little about our surroundings but it was okay. It was early. We were then told that we could get breakfast but that ended up being a convenient store on the side of a street. Along the way we picked up a random person. More on that later. We got to Playa Blanca and then got in the boat and then just sort of drove back and forth as our guide kept coming to shore and talking and then leaving again. Then we boated out and on the way dropped off the guy we picked up. He just got off and left.
Snorkeling was great. But it was so short. They should add more time to this. Cholon was NOT fun. They should just take this off the tour. It's surrounded by loud, drunk Colombian teenagers in boats all blasting loud music. Baru was so calm and serene but we only had 45 minutes there.
Back at Playa Blanca the lunch was really good but then our guide just left us and we were stuck trying to figure out where we should go so we just sort of banded together and sat at the beach. Lots of people walking up offering everything every 5 minutes to the point where they would wake you up from a nap.
We ended up combining with another tour for the drive back and it was cramped as fk. Arturo played LOUD music from his phone and every time his phone rang which was like 6 times it was beeping LOUDLY through the speakers. It was so loud.
Advice to tour: drop Cholon. Increase time at Baru. Increase snorkeling time.
Going from beach to beach by bout like lots of others, hence the smell of desal all day. also had a problem getting on ond of the bout with out a ladder. 2 of us fell and one cut knee.
I recommend going to Rosario islands but unfortunately not this tour. Mainly because the boat is a small fishing boat and was very unpleasant and dangerous for the 3 hours in open sea. The tour guides were not great and did not listen to the group. Go to playa Blanca but do not take this tour.
