Concert included three performers, including organist, flutist, and oratorio singer. All very good. Acoustics were amazing. Cruise, however, had a few issues. The walk from the basilica to the cruise ship was quite long. OK for us, but some people looked to struggle to get there. They said 5 or 10 minutes but it was more like 15 minutes, at a leisurely pace. Once on the ship, we were seated promptly, and left dock. Seeing the sights was tough, given the need to focus on getting food at the buffet, and also due to the bright lights inside, which made it hard to see outside without a lot of glare on the windows. For the buffet itself: 1. Make a point of getting there early to enjoy the full selection. I was one of the last, and several dishes were gone. 2. Food quality was 5 out of 10. Meats were good, veggies were store-bought frozen variety, steamed fish was mushy. 3. If you need gluten free foods, they have identified them on the little tags in front of each dish, if they arent missing several were. However, when asking the server about what was or was not gluten free, I was initially told that a number of items were GF by one server, and when my instinct said that was unlikely, I was told by another that they werent. Fortunately I only ate one small non-GF desert, but that could be really bad for a severe celiac. Point is, while the menu shows what is and isnt GF for most items, take great care in selecting what you eat if thats an issue for you. A couple of final notes: no safety instructions, so I would have no idea where life jackets are if they should be needed, and by request, apparently the live entertainment played the theme song for Titanic... which was great for a laugh near the end of the cruise! Kudos to Molnar Peter, a super-helpful and friendly member of the dinner staff. One extra star just because of him!

enjoyable concert in a beautiful setting

The music and the acoustics were great. The only downside when we went was that it was very warm inside the church. If you are interested in this one, I would advise buying the VIP for the sole reason that you get to sit up front. Otherwise, you get the very back of the church for general seating.

Worth buying up to the forward row of seats.

The organ concert played by Miklos Teleki was ABSOLUTELY fabulous 5 Stars. We have heard many organists over the years and he is the best. I would say that the meal on the Danube was just 3 stars but the cruise itself was lovely. I would recommend doing the organ concert separately and select a cruise with no food option as another separate event. I did not realize we could have the option of selecting the organ and cruise with a drink only.
Rick Steve's commentary about skipping a food cruise is right on. your food dollar is much better spent in a lovely restaurant rather than on this cruise. However, the cruise at night is a very good choice, esp. if it is a lovely night as we had

Our visit to the Organ Concert at St Stephen's Basilica was the high light of our ten day visit to Budapest. The live performance in the Cathedral with the organ, flute and voice far exceeds that what can be experienced listening to a CD.
One can understand how the composers and musicians sought to create music in such a beautiful setting that uplifts the soul of all who hear and experience the performance.

Amazing concert.

It's impossible to rate this combined event fairly - the concert was excellent 5 stars and the transfer to the cruise was so badly organised - we felt like a herd more than 50 people beign run through freezing streets of Budapest with no info or whatsoever - worst experience we've ever had long lines, people not knowing where and when we were going to board and if the boat was going to have enough space for everyone to be sheltered from the icy cold. We were so disappointed and cold that being already on the bank of Danube we decided to return to the hotel so the curise itself cannot be rated. Please avoid booking these two events together, I believe it is absolutely not worth it!!!
