Make your own way to Auckland’s Britomart Train Station to meet your guide and small group of no more than four people. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minivan, leave the city and head west into the wild landscapes of the Waitakere Ranges, around 30 minutes drive from the city.
With over 39,000 acres (16,000 hectares) of lush rainforest, rugged coastal cliffs, and sandy beaches to explore, the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park offers endless photo opportunities, and with the help of your guide, a professional landscape photographer, you’ll seek out all the most stunning locations.
Climb to viewpoints at 1,555 feet (474 meters), hike through ancient Kauri forests, and head off-the-beaten-track to discover serene waterfalls, black sand beaches, and native rain forest trails. Along the way, ask your guide for tips on how to get the best out of your camera; master manual settings such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO; and put your creativity to the test as you shoot some of Auckland’s most impressive landscapes.
Finally, head to Bethells Beach in the late afternoon, and set up your camera to capture the dazzling colors of a New Zealand sunset. After a full day exploring and a camera full of postcard-worthy shots, return to Auckland, where your tour ends back at the Britomart Train Station.
