Join us in the beautiful surf village of El Paredón and get a unique insight into life in a rural fishing community on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala! The day will begin with a visit to the Poza del Nance, one of seven places in the world where you can see marine turtles all year-round. Once back on dry land, we will experience the sights and sounds of a local family's kitchen to learn how to make traditional Guatemalan tortillas and empanadas. After a delicious lunch we will then discover the mangrove-lined river on the edge of the Sipacate-Naranjo National Park in a traditional lancha boat. Our local guide will paddle you through the mangroves helping you spot wildlife, teaching you how to fish and you can even go for swim! All the activities are run with trained local guides alongside a La Choza Chula member of staff for translation. All proceeds go towards supporting La Choza Chula's community development projects.
