Charleston Waterfront Park Tours

With excellent views of the Cooper River and the Charleston Harbor, this 12-acre park is a favorite spot to relax for both locals and visitors to Charleston. The park has old-fashioned benches and large lawn areas to sit on, swings for children to play on, and walking paths for leisurely strolls under the shade of dense canopies of oak trees. The park is also known for its gardens and many floral displays. Large fountains throughout are refreshing during the day—many children play in them on hot days—and beautifully lit at night.

On the eastern end of the peninsula, the park area includes Vendue Wharf, a long, wooden pier, and a floating dock. With over 1,000 feet of coastline visitors have the chance to watch dozens of boats sailing by. Outside of walking and playing in the park, many bring picnics or enjoy fishing off the pier.
